What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are qualified and registered healthcare professionals who are trained in using a number of methods to prevent and manage a range of conditions that may affect the body's movement and performance. Physiotherapy is used to promote people's physical and mental wellbeing.

The use of manual therapy, exercise therapy and education and advice are used to address problems that arise from acute injuries and pain associated with long term disabilities, painful conditions or operations.

To allow the treatment to be patient centred a holistic approach is often taken to ensure that they are encouraged to take charge of their own health.
